The restaurant is located near the Alaska Airlines Gates. The restaurant has a small area in the front that sells takeout out food.
The interior of the restaurant is a full service restaurant with tables and chairs. There is a full bar with bar stools along the bar. The service was very good. The menu was the pages light to a full meal. The prices were reasonable for the location. The dishes served were very good. -

This restaurant is located near the Air Canada gates and the waitress asked and, having received an answer, commented that Canadian passengers are the most polite. I assume she is not too impressed by her fellow country folk.
With that said, this full service restaurant also offers a take-out option outside and both cushioned seating and regular tables inside. The menu is the standard items one finds everywhere (sandwiches, pasta, burgers) and a fair number of alcoholic drinks. To eat better and save money I always strive to dine before coming to the airport or bring my own food to eat while waiting at the gate, but having someone with me made us end up here. I had an Impossible Burger and it was tasty. The caramelized onions certainly helped. The chips were actually chips and were not so good.
The waitress was polite, but slow with the food and the bill. We were seated right away, however, which is good when one is at the airport.
Still for a $15 burger one has to be skeptical.
What I want to laugh at is the restaurant name. Never mind that this place has as much to do with Osteria as Donald Trump has with sanity, what is with the "... by Fabio Vivani"? Every "restaurant is "by" someone now. Can humans be anymore trendy? This place was down the corridor from something by Wolfgang Puck. Even when I arrived in Toronto and was coming off the aeroplane the restaurant behind the glass was something by someone. Are these food channel people? I am so glad i neither watch that channel nor have any idea who these grubby businessmen are. Forgive me goddess of cliches and trends. Next review: Swiss Chalet chicken by Fabio The Cook. -

It's a cut above most airport food, but it's also priced as a cut above... so it's hard to say it's actually anything special.
This year they at least did dineLA Restaurant Week, which actually made them a pretty good deal as far as airport food goes. Both the club sandwich and the minestrone soup weren't bad at all, the chips tasted made in-house... the only hiccup was the server had no idea on dineLA and had to get the manager involved.
Quick but an extra step/hiccup, which, given the typically hurried nature of airport dining, was less than ideal. -

This place is awful.
No prices on the drinks menu (the wines range from $15 - 20ish, the waitress didn't tell us the exact prices).
The waitress was so rude when we only ordered coffee. She stormed off and didn't offer refills.
Can't comment on the food, we didn't stick around to try anything. -

Food was OK. Service was ok but slow considering it was pretty empty when I came. It had picked up by the time I was leaving. Either way it took forever for anything. So I finally paid my bill and then as I was leaving I couldn't find my server again. So I asked the guy helping the table next to me if he would mind filling up my water bottle. He filled it halfway and then way like "well that's all I have". No offer for anything else. I get it's annoying, but I'm about to get on a 5.5hr flight and just dropped $30 at your restaurant. So I went over to the bar and waited close to 10 min before anyone even acknowledged me. She was very busy though so I was patiently waiting. Once I finally was able to ask for water she said she had to do other "a lot of other things first". OK. Still waiting. So then the guy who filled it up halfway the first time came over and was more leisurely walking around behind the bar so I apologized again for being annoying and asked him to fill the bottle the rest of the way. He's like oh, yeah. So he starts filling it and asked if I had left "a bunch of bags" at the table. Um, yeah, I asked you for water which you did not complete so I've been waiting here. He was like "oh they called the police on those. You can't leave bags here." Are you kidding?! If you had paid attention for 2 seconds you would have seen the person you just served standing about 6 feet away at the bar to ask someone else to finish your job.
I understand it's not a common experience but the level of obliviousness was just beyond me.
